Firemen do not live in the firehouse, they just work there. It’s not the place they call home, but a place of consequence, nonetheless. Above them, and in their dreams, is home. But out there, on the street, is where the danger and opportunity awaits.

Their job is not to build other houses, but to save lives.

This month’s articles offer both perspectives. In one, there is the call of Home, where nothing can bother us, and all of our concerns are answered. In the other, is the danger and opportunity that now awaits us, outside, on the street with Hell’s Terrorists.

We like to have all the answers, here, but I must admit not knowing how to explain the closing text of “Eternity’s Kiss”—unless it be in the wonder of the God whom we serve. In the quiet hours, and in his Presence, when all else seems to have “burned down” I must remember that one Day very soon –every knee shall bow,

to him.

Amen.
