Scripture forecasts a religious and political entity called
Mystery Babylon that is clothed in “purple and scarlet.” Now scarlet is actually red, and within our country it has become fashionable to designate “conservative” as red and “liberal” as blue. When a “liberal” party elects “conservative” representatives, therefore, we might call them “purple” (red and blue, mixed together, make purple). Interesting. . . .
Within a country disillusioned by politicians who have promised (essentially) Paradise while delivering what appears to be another Vietnam, perhaps another look at the first coming of the Messiah will give us a fresh perspective.
For the God who invaded the middle east two millennia ago has not suddenly become impotent, or without resource. We are merely progressing to the end the Bible has projected, all along. Like those of the first century, we must truly seek the King, and go beyond the “baby stuff” of Christian fantasy.
The kingdom of God, will yet be established upon earth—at Christ’s second coming.
