We are here exploring one of the most exciting, rewarding, and challenging events foretold by the Holy Spirit, in the pages of the Bible: the ministry of the "two witnesses" as recorded by John in his Revelation of Jesus Christ, chapter eleven.

Here is a witness to take place:

  • Some time after the reclaiming of Jerusalem, by the Jews (vs. 2)
  • As a ministry in the "sackcloth"—evidencing self sacrifice and self-denial (as opposed to the pursuit of self esteem, or self advancement/earthly wealth —vs 3).
  • Manifesting extreme power and influence: as a witness executed by saints of extreme devotion, and intercession, before God (vss. 4-6).

Their ministry will be completed just before the rise of Antichrist, himself (vs. 7)—which will, no doubt, be a source of great chagrin and bewilderment to the rank and file of evangelical Christianity (Matt. 25:6)—and of great joy, to those who disdain the Blessed One whom we love (Rev. 11:8,9).

Preparation for that "midnight cry" is the purpose and mandate of this little ministry (Daniel 11:32).

Maranatha: behold, He is coming!
